Hello, hello! So since its been over a week since my last little blog entry, its obvious that this wedding business is begining to consume what little free time I have remaining. In the past week I have chosen linen for our tables(again) and I think we have finally settled on the menu(fingers crossed!) Dan has ordered our "Van Unen 19" jersey(yes in Giants' colors) for our guests to sign in lieu of a guest book on our wedding day, and then we are going to display it in one of those clear things you hang on the wall; and the best part of wedding stuff...I picked up my dress on Wednesday! My mother-in-law to be, accompanied me on the trip and it was great to get in some fun girl time together and bond a bit, and I think it helped that I looked like a TKO in my dress(yes, I'm gonna toot my horn a bit, I'm a bride-to-be, I'm allowed right!?) To make Wednesday even better, we went to look at our home and it is coming along so quickly! Before we know it Daniel is gonna be living there!
Last week was both of our birthdays and we cleaned house in the gift department! I think there are a few things left on our registries! But yes, I got my adorable colored bowls big and small! and Dan got me some cute things to hang on the walls of our home too! Dan also brought home a HUGE box of dishes, which I am so affectionately referring to as man dishes! As soon as I move in, the dishes are out! They're UGLY!
This next week I am tackling invites! Finishing up the guest list for our small intimate, simple, and elegant affair. So excited! Only 5 months, 3 weeks and 3 days till I'm Mrs. Nicole Van Unen!

Happy Birthday to Me!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! I love birthdays! Technically my birthday is not until 2:46AM, but the celebrating began at midnight with my cards and cupcake from my parents just like every year! I am working today, but I don't mind. I actually prefer to work my bday, because its worth the trade to have the 17th off and 18th(which is Dan's bday). We always celebrate on the 17th since it is in the middle of both of our bdays! I am looking forward to all of the birthday fun I am going to have this week. My birthday night my great friend Sarah and I are going to go to dinner at Blue Nami, then Wednesday night Dan and I are celebrating our birthdays with his family at Tahoe Joes and we will continue that into Thursday as well. Saturday after I get off of work, my cousin Ashley who turned 21 on the 14th and I are sharing a cake together just like we used to when we were little girls! She wanted to do this one last time since I am tying the knot and things are not going to be the same anymore as she puts it! So that should be great fun too! Hmm...well I suppose that I will turn in now, considering I have to be up in like 6 hours!

Happy Birthday Week!
Good Morning All! So it is technically Monday morning, but I am far from tired, and I work the 12:30-9:30pm shift Monday afternoon, so I can sleep in a bit! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend! I know I have said it on several occasions but Sunday is my favorite day of the week, and I love it even more when I have it off, and can spend the day with Dan, which I did yesterday. Daylight savings totally messed up our morning, but we got it all together and went to check the progress on our home, which is coming along right on schedule! We are overjoyed at making this house our home, and keep praying that all will fall into place in the next few months here! So once Dan made sure that all boards and wires were up to par, we headed to Target to do some browsing...that so did not turn out to be browsing! We have been looking for a comforter set that we both LOVE, but does not cost like $500- well we ended up finding a great set for a great price! Its the perfect compromise for a couple. It has a bit of leaf print for me, and some texture and stripes for Dan! With only 2 left in the store we snatched it up, along with a set of "soda-can" esque glasses that Dan had to have(I am rather fond of them myself), and some birthday presents for me, that are going to go in our home as well!
We had to stop, as we are heading to Ikea on Thursday morning in search of a much needed extra cabinet to act as a pantry, since our home does not have much cabinet space in the kitchen for dry goods. I mean we've all seen my registries, I am going to have to strategically put all the dishes away so that they all fit!
Well I am going to call it a night! So good night or good morning to you all, depending on when you are reading this! Remember...its's our birthday week!

The Birthday Registry!?
Hello all! Happy Friday Night! I just got home from a lovely day at work! Only 4 days until my 23rd Birthday! Today I brought home another lovely gift for my birthday; from our wedding registry! I LOVE it! The "small" pile of married life items I am acquiring on our coffee table is not so small anymore! With everyone giving me wedding gifts for my birthday, I don't have to worry about Dan being dish-less when he moves into our home! :) The fun part is going to be seeing if he cooks during those 8 weeks I am not there!
I cannot believe that there are only 190 days until our wedding day! Everything is moving by so quickly, and coming together so well(knock on wood!) ;)
Anyways, ya'll have a lovely rest of your Friday night, and a restful weekend! I have my favorite day of the week off (Sunday). So I will be relaxing with my Daniel!

The Dead Sea & The Babbling Brook
So as ya'll know Daniel and I have been reading The 5 Love Languages as apart of our premarital counseling. Well we are just flying through the book; we LOVE it! We are learning alot about each other, and can't believe how much of our own personality traits we are coming acrossed in the book.
There is a section in the book that we both saw our personalities shine through to the tee. Dan told me a bit about it, and then when I read the section myself I laughed out loud as to how much it is me and Dan! If you have read the book, I am talking about "The Dead Sea," and "The Babbling Brook." The dead sea(Dan) will sit quietly and just listen and observe and take everything in. The babbling brook(Me) will take whatever comes in through the eyes or ears and lets it out through the mouth! Which is so us and how are relationship has been and continues to be! It works! I just found it really cute when Dan called me Monday afternoon and was said, "I'm the dead sea and you're my babbling brook!"

A lighthearted Sunday Blurp
So I am slowly starting to begin to feel like myself again; very slowly! But its great cause that means by the time my BIRTHDAY rolls around in 9 DAYS I should be 100% for all my birthday fun! :) I am excited my Bestie will be here next weekend to celebrate with me and my Chicky Baby and I will be doing dinner at Blue Nami together my birthday night after I get off of work!
I have a feeling that my 23rd year of life is going to be AMAZING! There are going to be many changes that will be occuring.
Well happy sunday to all! I am off to get ready to read The 5 Love Languages with my love, then off to work I go!

Life must go on: even if I'm sick!
So I am still in so much pain from this cold! I feel disgusting! I don't feel like doing much of anything, but I am a bride to be which means I must get my butt up, because there is still so much that needs to be done!
Wednesday we had our first premarital counseling session, and it was great! We are reading Gary Chapman's The 5 Love Languages. I have barely started but what I have read I love. I am still finishing Dr. Laura's The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, a book that my lovely friend Kate let me borrow back in October, but with my hectic schedule I have not been able to finish, but am close to now!
Today , even though I was feeling really horrible, I had to order my wedding dress! Its funny, as gross as I looked and felt, but when I slipped my dress on, the excitement and glow in my cheeks was hard to deny even with my cold. I am a girl beaming with excitement for our big day! I will admit I am getting a bit nervous, but that is normal right? I mean its a huge life change. I know Daniel is the one, but I can't help but be nervous! Its going to be great sharing our lives together! We will learn to live with each other, he think he knows, but he has no idea, how much things are going to be different! :)
