Van Unen Happenings Part 2

Hello, hello! Here I am! With only 66 days left until the big day, I have been all over the place! Here are few updates as to what has been happening with us. Dan has finally moved into our house and has been there for about 2 weeks. He is begining to become more comfortable being alone. He had been saying that it felt like he was staying in a hotel; I said well you can call it that, because housekeeping(me) comes everyday and cooks and cleans and makes your bed! I am completely falling into my role as domestic diva! I have made some amazing meals for this guy! He was impressed and so was I! We have been trying to get the house all cozy, but I can't put holes in the wall without Dan being home, because I can't frickin reach anything! So we both have this weekend off because his family is in town, and they guys are all getting fitted for tuxes, and staying at our house, so I am also frantically trying to get the house ready for guests, but this weekend is also going to be put holes in the wall weekend. Time for frames and home decor to go up. I know that sounds like one busy weekend, but if I can work 8 hours and come and make a meal and clean up and all that, he can certainly hang my curtains and put a few pictures up after trying on tuxes and playing video games!

This past Sunday, we took a day trip to the bay area with Dan's parents to see his grandparents, as they will not be able to come to the wedding. It was such a treat to hear all the stories about Danny as a kid. The weather in Los Gatos was gorgeous and we walked downtown and just basked in the sun all day, and spent time with family.

This weekend we are also going to take our first walk around our neighborhood to see what and who is around us. Lots to do, and only a few more weeks until I do! I cannot believe how quickly time is going by!

You're gonna be a Good Wife...

...that's what Dan said to me tonight when he came home from work. After I got off work this evening I went to the store to get a few ingredients for dinner. Dan and I had plans to go grocery shopping when he got off of work for cold items since the fridge was installed today. Since I had about 3 hours to kill until Dan came home, I figured I would make him something amd try my domestic hat on! I know how to cook somethings, but I really do not cook at all. So I figured I would take a stab at tacos, how hard could that be!? They turned out amazing! I was so thrilled! I also made spanish rice, beans, and chocolate chip cookies! While I was on my cooking roll, I was freaked out by a teenage boy looking at me through our kitchen window over the wall in our backyard! I was scared as no one else lives in our court, so I quickly ran up stairs to look out of the bedroom window, and I am hoping it was just some punk kid who was playing in the field behind our house. I called Dan and was like you need to hurry up and get off! I am scared! After I got over being afraid, I went to finish making my dinner, and cleaned up just in the nick of time! Dan was floored at the fact that I had worked 8 hours, been to the store, and cooked a meal and cookies, and cleaned up and had everything waiting for him. I told him I would love to always be able to do this for him, but he has 77 days until he can really get used to it. I cannot wait to have friends over for a couples night dinner party!

Oh What a Night!

Whew! What a day! So full of events! Wednesday after work Dan and I celebrated our new home by having homemade lemon meringue pie! It was absoulutely scrumptious, I had two pieces! We then took a couple of loads of his stuff over to our house, and then proceeded to go on what I feel was the longest shopping trip EVER!!!!!!!! A little bit of background info is needed here. Dan has NEVER shopped for groceries, or anything for that matter besides his toiletries and gifts for others. While I on the other hand, have always done my own grocery shopping, so I know a thing or two! Anyways, we're in Wal-Mart{my least favorite store BTW} and I begin to lose my patience with the world's most amazing man, as he is reveling in his newfound independence, and wants to take his time in the store. I told him he should have gone to the store by himself if he wanted to wander through each aisle. We had a list! I am a list girl, I make a list so I can get in and out. not so I can browse! Finally 2hours later we are out of the store, and make it home to put stuff away only to find a massively HUGE and I mean HUGE spider on the carpet! Needless to say, that ended the night, and now I am home, doing laundry excited to get up in a few hours to head back to the house and Nicole the place up a bit! I know, I know, we need pics!...to be continues!
