Honey, I'm Home {almost}!

Woo-Hoo! We are officially homeowners! Its been an increadibly long process, but it was totally worth it! We are so extremely excited for this new chapter in our lives! We closed escrow on Monday, and received the keys on Tuesday. Dan and I are going to be going grocery shopping when I get off of work Wednesday, and then on Thursday with the help of my bridal party we will be cleaning the place from top to bottom, I know, I know, its a brand spankin' new home, but still it needs to be disinfected! I can't wait to finally put stuff away! Dan will be moving in throughout the week, I will just be his housekeeper LOL! Popping in on my days off and before/ after work, but I will not officially move in until our wedding day! Its crazy how quickly everything is coming together. In just a few months I will be his Mrs

In other great news- I was browsing our registry list, and someone has already purchased our Pistachio kitchen aid! I cannot wait to use that thing!

Home Sweet Home!

Its official! We are the proud new owners of our very 1st home together! YAY so excited! We close escrow on Monday, June 28, and Dan will be moving in shortly after that! The process took a little longer than we anticipated,but its ok,we have finally made it into the home stretch! I cannot wait to get all of this clutter out of my bedroom and into our house! We are super excited and can't wait to have friends over soon!

Van Unen Happenings!

Hello, hello! Yes, I know my posts are few and far between lately, but we are entering the final 3 months 1 week and 6 days of our engagement! :) On Sunday, we spent the morning taking engagement pictures at the park where Daniel made the BEST decision ever! Courtney McCollum is our photographer and her work is AMAZING! I absoulutely LOVE her style, and she has captured us in our essence! I will post pictures as soon as she finishes editing them!

After pictures, we spent the afternoon doing our usual family Sunday and celebrated Dan's brother Michael's 21st Birthday!

Wedding Update! The bridesmaids dresses are coming in, the invites are in the process of being made and will be out within the next 2 weeks, and with the help of my future mommy in law, I will be making my own wedding veil! :)

I cannot believe how fast the time is flying by! We're almost Mr. and Mrs.!

The Straw!

It's the little things in life that we either take for granted or forget or don't even notice. I guess after five years of friendship and four years of dating, you learn a thing or two about your significant other. I know that Dan and I know each other like the back of our hands, but it wasn't until yesterday that I was reminded just how well Dan knows me. We haven't had much time together lately,mostly because of me and my wacky work schedule, but yesterday we decided to go on an impromptu date just the two of us. We had lunch at a chinese restraunt, and while we were waiting for our meal, I was telling Dan, hey look in my purse, and we were laughing because I usually have a granola bar, or some other snack stashed in my purse for emergenices, but this particular day I had an iced tea in there! It was definitely one of those had to be there momements. But as our lunch arrived and we were talking about different things, Dan asks me if I would like him to ask the waitress if I could have a straw. I was like a straw? A straw for what, (I had taken many sips of the iced tea that was hidden in my purse by this point.) He replied with, because you haven't drank any of your water yet. I know you hate drinking out of glasses in public places without a straw! I was blown away as this was something I have never come straight out and told Dan about me, he knew this out of observation! I thought it was so sweet!

Spring Fever!

Ever have one of those days where you just don't wanna get up?! Well that has been the last 3 days for me. Tuesday was my first day off and I had a laundry list of things that I wanted to get done, but my mom had other plans. She surprised me with a mom and daughter spa day! So much more fun than cleaning and orginizing! We had facials, massasges and mani/pedis! Just what I needed to get me relaxed and ready for the crazy week I am going to have. I was feeling so great! Until I woke up from my after spa day nap with allergies that really feel like a yucky cold! All I wanna do is lay in my covers and watch Lifetime! But being the go-getter that I am, I still got up early on Wednesday to spend the day with Dan. We went and got his haircut, ran a few errands and met with our cake baker to talk about our wedding cake! All while I felt crummy! But since Daniel is the most amazing man in the world he took super good care of me, and surprised me by taking me to Blue Nami to get my favorite roll for lunch. He also tucked me in for a nap and even let me snuggle up against him, with my stuffy nose and all! Now that's what I call LOVE! I don't know if its PMS or if its the tick tock on our wedding clock that is making me even more emotional than normal, but I couldn't be more happier than I already am! So excited to spend my life with this amazing man who loves me uncondtionally!

Hello,hello!

I know, I know...where the heck have I been! Its been a month since my last post. I've been around, just no time to blog about all our happenings! In the past month we have purchased our wedding bands, chosen our first dance song, as well as a few other songs to play. All bridesmaid dresses have been ordered, I've met with the florist, chosen a photographer,and in between all that I have managed to get a few mani/pedis, get my hair done, and work! Whew! I am exhausted, and looking forward to my tomorrow off to do some spring cleaning, going through some of the things I have been saving for years, and boxing things up so that they are ready to go! I cannot be saving things for the last minute, as these next 4 months are going to FLY by!

I will admit, I have also had the WORST case of cold feet this month too! It seemed like each time anyone offered their congratulations I cringed with angst on the inside. Its so strange that my cold feet set in as soon as we finished our premarital counseling! Our counselor had it easy as we had already seriously talked about all the topics she was covering about a year ago. You know, when you hit the 3 year mark, and you start to question where the relationship is headed! But nonetheless she said we are very well prepared for marriage, and I guess that freaked me out a bit! I found myself thinking I am to leave my family and live with this man...AHHHH!!!!!! Its not like I had doubts, I absoulutely know that my Daniel is the ONE and I love him more that he will ever know, but I was just SO NERVOUS! Its nuts!

Hmm...so far all is well. Everything is staying on track. We should know within the next 2 weeks about our final approval for the house, and then escrow closes the 2nd week of June and if all goes according to plan Dan will be moving into our home the
3rd week of June! As the time starts to draw more near I am becoming giddy with excitement! We have engagement pictures to also look forward to in June as well!

I am so happy and increadibly blessed to get marry my very best friend! I am the luckiest girl in the world!
