90 Days!

Its official! The Van Unen's have passed our 90 days of marriage, and its a keeper! Not that there was ever any doubt! Months two and three of marriage have been trying yet amazing all at the same time! We both started our new jobs which are great opportunities, and we are much more happier with work! We finally hung some pictures, got our bedroom organized and I FINALLY organized the closet! (Everyone knew I had been putting it off for so very long!)We celebrated our first married Thanksgiving, on which I just happened to be sick! But my baked sweet potatoes were a hit! We picked out our very first Christmas tree and got the house Christmas ready! While everything is going great! Our schedules make anything we want to do together hard! Dan works till the wee hours of the morning and I work the main middle 8 hours of the day! Que sera,sera, whatever will be, will be! As long as we acknowledge that our schedules are so scattered, we have to make an extra effort to find time that we can spend together, even if snuggling results in falling asleep! Which the sleeping arrangement is still an issue...

The 3 T's: Tea, Tissue, T.V.

Its that time of year again: cold and flu season! :( I officially have my very first cold as a married woman! Let me tell you, it STINKS! I feel so very horrible, so horrible that I should have called in yesterday, but I was afraid to because I just started my new job last week! However, my boss is amazing and she sent me home early, because she said I probably picked up my cold from her kids! So here I am today, my day off with a laundry list of things to do, and those things are going to have to wait until I am feeling better. Looks like I will be spending my day snuggled up on the couch with tea, tissue and remote in hand!

1st Month of Marriage

WOW! What a month it has been! I cannot get over how officially today we have been married one month already! In this past month since our wedding, we have come home from the honeymoon, Dan got a promotion at work, and I got a new job! Woo-Hoo! Cannot wait to start working at Louis Vuitton!

Some fun newlywed stories so far:

The toilet paper- I like it on the roller, he likes it on top of the roller- WINNER: On the roller

The man room/office- I wanted to keep it somewhat neutral since the computers are in there, he wants to sports the place up- WINNER: Sports- there is HUGE, and I mean HUGE wall cling of a running back on the wall.

The sleeping arrangement- Its interesting when you start sharing a bed with someone. My handsome husband and I are both bed hogs that is for sure, and one night I woke up because I did not have anymore pillows, well I look over and Daniel is sleeping so peacefully, why? He HAD ALL OF THE PILLOWS! I had to yank one out from under him! WINNER: We're still working on it!

All in all, I am loving sharing life with this amazing man who is now my husband. Everyday is a great day because he's in it.

YES!

October 9,2009. A day that I will never forget. It was the first day of my vacation, and Dan and I were going to spend the day together. The day was not starting out so great as I had to go say good-bye to my very best friend in the whole world, who was moving to Southern California. I called Dan after I had said my good-byes to my friend and her daughter. I was sad! He like always told me to relax and that everything would be fine. We were going to have a great day, and that I needed to hurry up and get my butt over to his house! Well upon my arriving, I could tell something was going on, but I brushed it off cause I really couldn't figure it out. So we went and grabbed a pizza and went off to our park and had a pizza picnic. Throughout our lunch I noticed that Dan had barely eaten anything, and he assured me that he was feeling well. So I began cleaning up our picnic so that we could pack up and move on to our next activity for the day. As I was walking back to the table, I went to give Dan a hug and he grabbed my hands, got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! I laughed, I cried, and then I said "yes, of course I will!"


Now, here we are one year later and I can remember that day so clearly, like it was yesterday. What we were wearing, all that was said leading up to the big moment. I am so head over heels, his and her towels, truly, madly, deeply in love with this man who is now my husband, and I am oozing with excitement to see what the Lord has planned for us.

The Van Unens are Home!

WHEW!!!! What a whirlwind these last few weeks have been! But I am happy to announce that after four and half years of dating, and 11 long months of being engaged, Daniel and I are finally Mr. & Mrs. Van Unen! Its been an interesting first 2 weeks of being married, but I have LOVED each and every minute of it. Our wedding photos will finally be ready at the end of this week and I cannot wait to see and post them! Between work and getting this house of ours in order I have 0 time to blog, so they are going to be far and few between, which is pretty typical for me!

30 days and Counting!

Hello,hello! I know, I know! Where the heck have I been!? Well we will hit the 30 day mark until the big day tomorrow! Cannot believe how quickly the time has passed. I have been busting my butt trying to get our home in order, and it is still in total disarray! No matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to get this place up to my organized standards!

With 30 days to go, I am yearning to get everything in order, but we are finding great beauty in the chaos! Hope you all are doing well, pretty short and lame blog I know, but I tried! <3
